Welcome to the weekend. While you were all losing it over Ben Affleck replacing Christian Bale as Batman (don’t worry, God will not allow such a travesty to happen), I was scouring the interweb for The Three Things You Need to Read this Week:
(1) Wintery Knight on the ruling of the New Mexico Supreme Court forcing Christian photographers to shoot same-sex ceremonies. Now what were you same-sex marriage advocates saying about how this wouldn’t impact religious freedom?
(2) Saints & Sceptics on the difficult week McAtheism is having.
(3) Melissa Cain Travis on when God refreshes the heart of an apologist.
Be sure to read all three. Check The Poached Egg blog for great links every day and check back here next week for posts on Jesus & the Free Market, why there is no such thing as “your truth,” the Books of the Week, the Five Books on Apologetics Every Christian Should Own and another Ask Pastor Matt.
Oh, and my favorite quote of the week comes from Rick Warren in his introduction to the new book The Poverty of Nations: Sustainable Solutions by Wayne Grudem and Barry Asmus (Crossway 2013), “The Biblical way to help people rise out of poverty is through wealth creation, not wealth redistribution.”
BTW, thank you all for making this a record week on the blog. Have a great weekend. Until next week, grace and peace.
