Here are a few gems from the interweb this week:
Brett McCracken on The difference between nationalism and patriotism (if I read one more post about “nationalism” on Facebook from some twentysomething punk on the 4th of July, I was going to punch a random hippie).
Speaking of patriotism, Tim Dalrymple offers wise words from my friend and Iraqi vet David French on whether God blesses nations.
Andrew Webb on the the marginalization of evangelicals and historically where it is headed. Important.
Pastor Dave pushes back against the charge of bibliolatry.
Larry offers a A non-review of “Magic Mike”
Jon’s Icebreaker this week, “What was your favorite family vacation?” Hawaii is mine.
A zombie theme park? Hecks yes!
Finally, my favorite Tweet of the week: “Now that pinterest, instagram and netflix are down, I think I’m just going to spend the weekend learning the names of my children.” Overlandparker.
Check back every day for movie, music & book reviews as well as our clause-by-clause look at the Constitution, a new weekly, red-faced rant and random thoughts on theology and pop culture.
Until then, grace and peace!

Re the zombie theme park: The rapidly mainstreaming niche of mud runs has its own niche of zombie runs. I’m doing this 5K zombie/obstacle run in September: http://dcm.ticketleap.com/dead-farm-presents-the-muddzilla-zombie-war-5k/
No guns, crossbows, or machetes allowed, however.
That’s great! Our church is planning one as a fundraiser! Blessings.
A church-sponsored zombie run — absolutely fabulous! I see a potential book about the experience: The Barefoot-Running-Experience Church.
BTW, when is the zombie book coming? I want to pre-order.
Sometime next year! Hopefully just in time for the 2nd part of season 3 of The Walking Dead!
Any date on the Revolution Church zombie run?
We are shooting for the weekend before Halloween.
According to Google Maps Driving Direcitons, I can make it up for the run in 25 hours on IH40, a mere 1,495 miles from my house to the church. I may have to pass this year.
I’ll hold a spot for you for 2013!
Thanks for the mention. Hawaii was pretty incredible. Which island(s) did you visit?
Maui and the Big Island. You?
